1. About CoreX
CoreX is a Windows desktop application that displays system information and provides optional tools for Windows settings, DNS, cleanup, app installation, and restore points. Features depend on Windows, hardware, installed dependencies, and permissions on your device.
2. MIT License
CoreX is distributed under the MIT License. The license text in the CoreX repository controls the rights and conditions for using, copying, modifying, and redistributing the software. If these terms conflict with the MIT License on software licensing, the MIT License controls.
3. Your responsibilities
- Use CoreX only on systems you own or are authorized to administer, and comply with applicable laws and organizational policies.
- Review what a setting or operation does before applying it. Some tools change Windows registry entries, services, scheduled tasks, DNS settings, or files.
- Back up important files before system changes. Consider creating a Windows restore point before applying tweaks; a restore point is not a substitute for a separate personal-file backup.
- Do not use CoreX to damage systems, interfere with other people, or evade security controls.
- If you redistribute the software, follow the MIT License and do not misrepresent the origin or bundle it with malicious software.
4. System changes and third-party tools
When you choose a feature, CoreX may run local PowerShell operations or use Windows APIs. You are responsible for reviewing and authorizing actions on your device. CoreX may also use or launch third-party services or tools, such as GitHub for releases and Winget or Chocolatey for app installation. Their software and services are subject to their own terms. CoreX does not control third-party products, Windows updates, drivers, or changes made by other software.
5. No warranty
To the extent allowed by applicable law, CoreX is provided “AS IS,” without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied. The publisher does not promise the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every device, or improve performance, privacy, or security in every configuration. System changes may have unintended effects or conflict with other software and organizational policies.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of CoreX, including loss of data, profit, or system functionality. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
7. Updates and availability
CoreX may check GitHub Releases for updates. You are not required to install an update, but older versions may lack fixes or compatibility. The publisher may change, pause, or stop distributing the app.
8. Ending use
You may stop using CoreX at any time by closing or uninstalling it. Uninstalling does not necessarily remove local logs or settings; see the Privacy Policy for information about local data.
9. Governing law
These draft terms are intended for use by a project published from Bangladesh and should be interpreted subject to applicable Bangladesh law and any mandatory protections that apply to you. This clause does not remove rights that cannot legally be waived. Have local counsel confirm the correct governing-law and dispute-resolution wording before publication.
10. Changes
The publisher may revise these terms when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised version is published. Continued use is not intended to waive rights that applicable law makes non-waivable.
