1. Scope
This policy applies to the CoreX Windows application distributed by Noveriks Team. It is based on the CoreX repository's published privacy description and feature documentation. If an app release changes its data practices, this policy should be updated to match the released build.
2. Information CoreX does not request for an account
CoreX has no sign-up, login, or payment flow. The app does not ask you to provide your name, email address, or payment details to use its local features. The publisher does not sell or rent app data to advertisers or data brokers.
If you contact support, your email address and anything you include in your message are received so the publisher can respond. Please do not send passwords, private files, or unredacted sensitive information.
3. Information processed on your device
CoreX reads or changes local system information when needed for the features you use. This can include CPU, memory, graphics, storage, temperature, uptime, network metrics, Windows settings, registry values, services, scheduled tasks, and DNS configuration. App preferences are stored locally. CoreX also writes local logs that can help troubleshoot errors.
System information and settings used by these local features are not routinely sent to the publisher. Some features have the outbound network behavior described below.
4. Information sent off your device
| Feature or purpose | Information described by CoreX | When it happens |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous usage analytics (PostHog) | App version, feature or screen events, Windows version, and coarse locale. | When analytics are active in the app. These events help the team understand feature use and improve the app. |
| Update checks (GitHub Releases) | App version and a request to the release repository. | When CoreX checks for an update. GitHub may also receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address under its own service operation. |
| Network or DNS diagnostics | Public IP address and DNS resolver addresses for the test. | Only when you manually start the relevant diagnostic; the diagnostic does not run automatically. |
| Error details you choose to report | Error messages or logs you include in a support request. | Only if you choose to share them with the publisher, for example by email or GitHub issue. |
PostHog's handling of analytics data is subject to its own privacy terms. The repository policy describes these analytics as anonymous; do not assume that this means no network data is transmitted. You can use your network controls to manage connections, though blocking them may affect app features.
5. Third-party services
- PostHog — product analytics.
- GitHub — release hosting and update checks; support issues may also be filed there.
- Microsoft Windows and local system APIs — used to display system information and perform Windows operations.
- Winget, Chocolatey, and their software sources — used when you choose to install apps. Those services and software publishers have their own terms and privacy policies.
CoreX does not control third-party services. Review their policies before using related features.
6. Retention and deletion
Analytics retention follows the analytics provider's applicable settings. Local logs and app settings may remain on your PC after uninstalling CoreX; uninstalling does not necessarily remove the app's data folder. You can remove local logs or settings yourself using Windows file-management tools, after closing the app. Keep a copy of logs first if you need them for troubleshooting.
If you have emailed support or posted an issue, the relevant service may retain that communication under its own policies. You may contact the publisher to request help locating or deleting information sent directly to the publisher. Requests concerning third-party service data may need to be directed to that provider.
7. Security
CoreX uses local Windows permissions and third-party network services as described here. No software or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep Windows and CoreX up to date, obtain installers from the official release page, and review any diagnostic data before sharing it.
8. Children
CoreX is a general-purpose Windows utility and is not directed at children under 13. The publisher does not knowingly seek personal information from children through the app.
9. Requests and rights
Depending on your location, applicable privacy laws may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other handling of personal information. Contact help.mahinulislam@gmail.com and describe your request. The publisher may need enough information to identify relevant support communications; do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive details.
10. Changes and contact
This policy may be revised when CoreX features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top indicates the date of this page's current draft. For questions, contact help.mahinulislam@gmail.com or open a support issue at GitHub Issues.
